Petal Pilley – Director
I grew up in a travelling theatre company (Footsbarn Travelling Theatre) that toured theatre throughout Europe, Australia and USA. I experienced continuously the power of theatre and music to open a uniting force, between the company and the local audience, transcending language and cultural differences. I’m very interested in challenging mindset and perceptions.
As the Director of Blue Teapot Theatre Company my role is to establish a safe creative place where people with learning disabilities can come to express themselves through theatre. I am responsible for providing professional, quality and entertaining theatrical experiences for our audiences, creating opportunities for our company members and Bright Soul participants to continue their professional development in theatre.
My goal is to provide Ireland with the national model of a professional theatre company for people with learning disabilities, to lead the way as to how that can be achieved and maintained.
Kathy Murphy – Administrator
I have worked in the world of theatre my entire life, spending several years as the Business Manager of the Performing Arts Department at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, in Arvada, Colorado. I am passionate about theatre and how it allows everyone the opportunity to discover and explore their creativity and imagination, actors and audience alike.
My role is to let the world know how amazing Blue Teapot Theatre Company is, to support the inner workings of the company through administrative, funding and marketing efforts. I am charged with supporting the company members and participants and encouraging their goals. I work to find partners and other organizations to collaborate with on solo and long term projects .
As Administrator of Blue Teapot I am here to support the needs of the company and ensure that the future continues to look bright.
