Bright Soul
In September 2004 a new theatre initiative – Drama in the Community (now re-named Bright Soul) – was born. Created by the Blue Teapot Theatre Company and Brothers of Charity Services Galway to provide participants with the opportunity of being involved, on a weekly basis, in drama workshops, and an opportunity to participate in street theatre and productions.
Since 2004 this group has grown in skill and confidence. Their work has been showcased on Nationwide in 2007 for their Bealtaine celebrations in Brigit’s Gardens. They participate yearly in Blue Teapot’s entry of the St. Patricks Day Parade/Festival in Galway city, winning first place in 2009.
The group’s members are given time, expertise and support by top industry professionals enabling each individual to develop self-belief, friendship, courage and confidence.
With such successful productions as It’s 10 Years, Shadows, and Bealtaine Festival in Brigit’s Garden, their involvement in the Gort Community School Integration Programme, and continued involvement in the Galway Arts Festival, Macnas and St Patrick’s Day Festival Parades, the group has grown in talent and reputation.
Needless to say, Bright Soul’s future looks… well you know!
